Leven Veteran Vintage Rally 2011
Leven Veteran Vintage Rally 2011 was held on 26 June on the promenade at Leven in Fife.
Not the best weather for a rally or for photographs but it wasn’t cold, stayed dry for the most part and there were many fine vehicles on view. I managed to catch a quite a few shots of the veteran and vintage vehicles, cars and motorbikes.
The first one shows the start of the ride out through the roads of Fife.
Two Bentley cars lead this group on the Road Rally. It was very loud in a quality sort of way.
1953 R Type Bentley, 4.5 Litre. The only one built with this body.
I’ve heard of putting “a tiger in your tank” but one on the roof is new to me.
Not so many moving parts as modern vehicles and immaculate.
Not so much a “big yellow taxi” as a big yellow tractor!
Sometimes photographs can be deceptive about scale and perspective. To indicate the huge size of this tractor its height was larger than the vehicle in the following photograph.
I think this is a Ford Prefect.
Gleaming Royal Enfield motorbike fuel tank.
A Beach Buggy, based on a VW Beetle chassis if I recall correctly.
Rosie had a great time.
A Morris Oxford.
The ubiquitous and legendary Volkswagen Camper van. Further adorned with the image of another great legend, Elvis Presley.
An Austin pick-up on the Road rally.
The main sponsor of the 2011 event was R B Bruce Coachworks (Repair Centre).
