The Tall Ships Race Parade of Sail

Following the RAF Red Arrows display, the 57 participating Tall Ships set out from Greenock, one by one, surrounded by a flotilla of local vessels down the Firth of Clyde towards their destination on the next stage.

They were not racing at this point and different Tall Ships were to call in at Campbeltown, Oban and Ullapool en route to Lerwick. Read more

Clanadonia Keepin It Tribal

Hot from performing at “T in The Park” the previous day, straight all the way to the “Tall Ships Race” event in Greenock, Clanadonia are a Tribal Pipes and Drums band, steeped in the Pictish/Celtic traditions of Scotland.

The character of these performers is “keepin’ it tribal” and they do that by engaging with the crowd so this band are probably best in among the crowd not confined to such a small stage. I’m not saying they weren’t their usual good selves. It was just odd seeing them on a stage. It’s certainly easier to photograph when they are out in the open. Read more
