Salsa Celtica perform in Greenock
Salsa Celtica are an Edinburgh based international touring band formed by musicians from across the Scottish jazz and folk scenes producing a synthesis of Scottish and Irish traditional music with all the Latin American elements of salsa. This unique blend has taken them all over the world where they have been a hit at celtic, jazz and salsa festivals.
Salsa Celtica perform on the main stage at the 2011 Tall Ships event in Greenock.
The current band are: Simon Gall – piano, Toby Shippey – bongos, cowbell, Lino Rocha – vocals, Dougie “El Pulpo” Hudson – congas, Javier Fioramonti – bass guitar, Steve Kettley – saxophone, flute, jaw harp, Éamonn Coyne – banjo, tenor guitar, Ross Ainslie – bagpipes, whistle, cittern, Ryan Quigley – trumpet, Kenny Fraser – fiddle, Eric Alfonso – timbales, Fraser Fifield – whistle, saxophone, uilleann pipes, Chris Stout – fiddle, Rona Cooper – fiddle.
