The 2nd Linlithgow Classic Car Day at South Queensferry
On Sunday 4th September 2011 I headed over to South Queensferry to catch the Linlithgow Classic Cars at the end of the first stage of their meet up and ride out.

The vehicles and drivers had assembled and registered for the event at the “Park Bistro” by the canal just outside Linlithgow. An opportunity for bacon rolls and tea or coffee prior to setting out on parade through the country roads.

I caught up with them at the “Two Bridges Hotel” car park which had been offered for the exclusive use of the event, another opportunity for refreshments!
Morgan Plus 4 at the Two Bridges Hotel
Nestled between the Forth Rail and Road Bridges, with warm sunshine and the cruise ship Queen Elizabeth anchored in the Forth Estuary it was a fine setting. The smells associated with classic cars as they motored in, petrol (leaded?) , oil, rubber, polish and leather brought back memories of bygone days.
The modern clean lean green engines with reduced emissions may be taken forgranted and this was a gentle and pleasant reminder of what motoring used to be all about.

It was an ideal opportunity to get shots of the fine cars and I’ve ended up with too many shots to publish in one place. I will concentrate on the South Queensferry “pit stop” in this article and publish another one with the shots at Linlithgow Palace and in the market square in a subsequent article.
